01KOOKBOOK.I AM NOT YOUR PROJECT
Closeness does not grant full access.

It creates the chance that your daughter will not have to perform a more convenient version of herself to keep the relationship.

GOOD INTENTIONS CAN BE LOUD

Concern can become a project called: let’s improve her mood, choices and face.

A teenage girl needs an adult who sees a person rather than a set of symptoms to correct. Boundaries can be firm without contempt, sarcasm, or public shame.

01

If she tells me, she wants advice

She may be testing whether you can hold the feeling without taking over the story. Ask: listen or help look for options?

02

That look is aimed at me

It may be tension, shame, overload, or an attempt to separate. Not every expression is a referendum on your parenting.

03

Closeness requires total honesty

Connection is not border control. Privacy can live alongside sensible safety rules.

THREE PRODUCTS · ONE PATH

Change the opening first. Then practise it in a real home.

Each product has one job. The guide gives you the map, the toolkit gives you usable language, and the programme helps the change survive for 21 days.

WHERE TO BEGIN

You do not have to do everything at once. Choose one move that can help today.

Each resource stands on its own. Start with what is actually happening in your home, then add another layer of practice only if you need it.

  1. NOW

    Interrupt the automatic reaction

Use the free Repair Card when a conversation is beginning to derail.

  2. STEP 01

See what is really happening between you

The guide helps you tell care from control and silence from rejection.

  3. STEP 02

Find words for the difficult moment

The toolkit offers language for the moments when instinct and patience have left the room.

  4. STEP 03

Bring the insight into daily life

The 21-day practice turns one good idea into a series of small behaviours.

  5. IMPORTANT

    Choose only what you need

You do not have to buy the full series. Each resource is useful on its own.

BASED ON RESEARCH, NOT HOROSCOPES

Warmth and autonomy do not rule out boundaries.

The programme translates research into behaviour in the kitchen, in the car and after a slammed door. Sources are visible; no single paper is sold as a miracle cure.

CDC

Clear expectations and awareness of a teenager’s life work best in a relationship built on trust.

APA

Young people’s digital lives call for conversation and modelling, not bans alone.

National Academies

Adolescent development combines growing autonomy with an enduring need for supportive adults.

THE CREATORS · MARLENA AND KRIS

We raised three children. They are all adults now — and we are still learning.

For thirty years we have been a happy couple who are still genuinely in love. One of us grew up in Central Europe, the other in the Americas; we have lived in different places and between cultures. These guides bring research into the reality of an actual home: conversations, mistakes, boundaries, apologies, and another attempt tomorrow.

We do not write as perfect parents. We write as parents who truly lived through this stage and learned that the relationship matters more than performing parental certainty.

Questions without gloss

Will this make my son talk?+

No — and that is healthy. The aim is a safer channel, not full access to his mind.

Does the guide blame parents?+

No. Responsibility for your own behaviour is not blame; it is the only part of the relationship you can change without coercion.

Do I need all three products?+

No. The core guide stands alone. The toolkit makes words easier to find; the programme supports implementation.

Are the products available yet?+

Not yet. You can open the free Repair Card now; launch information will be published on this page.
